Solaris Biotechnology is a Donaldson brand. Focusing on Life Science & Special Application with a specialisation in Design and Manufacturing Bioprocessing equipment. Our main products include Bioreactors, Fermenters, and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) systems for R&D and production purposes.

We engage in providing high-tech bioprocess solutions, our products are used in Universities, Research Centers, as well as in Biotech, Pharma, Food and Beverage, Nutraceutical, Cosmeceutical, Chemical, Agricultural industries, and, not to mention bioplastics and biofuels applications.

Introduction

We are currently looking for a Process Engineer.

The position will be based in Porto Mantovano. (Italy)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative bioreactors, fermenters for Biotech, Pharma and Food and Beverage industry. 
  • Apply industry and engineering knowledge to innovate and solve complex customer challenges and create competitive advantage.
  • Developing technical documentation such as: layouts, PFD’s, P&ID’s, mass and energy balances, URS and/or techinical specifications, fluid list and consumption.
  • Carry out engineering design according to cGMP, pharmaceutical technical regulation and local regulations.
  • Commissioning and final testing at manufacturing and customer site.

Education Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Chemical/Process/Pharmaceutical Engineering.

Language requirements

  • Fluent Italian and a proficient level of English

Technical Competence & Skills:

  • Knowledge of process control and P&IDs standard settings.
  • Capability of hydraulic sizing of lines and main process equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, agitation groups, valves, etc..).
  • Knowledge safety regulation related to machinery (Machinery Directive, PED, ASME-U, etc..).
  • Experience in using 2D/3D software such as: Autocad, Solid Edge, Solidworks.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad. (10 to 25%)

Relevant Experience:

  • 3 to 7 years of experience as Process Engineer in a bioprocessing, food and beverage or pharma industry.
