Responsibilities:
- Architect, design and implement custom hardware developed for competitive trading.
- Work closely with other team members to evaluate system architecture and develop system level architecture proposals.
- Research and evaluate new technologies.
- Circuit and board level design realization activities including schematic captures. Experience with PCB layout a plus.
- Perform hardware testing including circuit characterization and system level testing.
- Evaluate and Collaborate with Fabrication & Assembly Suppliers.
- Investigate hardware issues to root cause and provide appropriate solutions and recommendations.
- Real estate planning, power budgets, design architecture, and logistical support (cost,schedules, resources).
- Management of external vendors fabrication and assembly.
- Author technical documents, specifications, & test specifications.
- Maintain bill of materials.
Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of full-life cycle hardware development and support experience.
- Experience in embedded system design with high density FPGAs and low latency, high speed circuits.
- Hands on experience with sophisticated test and measurement equipment.
- Experience with schematic/PCB design tools.
- Signal Integrity, Power, Thermal simulations & EMC Testing Experience
- Proficient in soldering for minor modifications of assembled hardware to support development.
