We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Member Experience (MX) Products team in Finland. Preferred location: Helsinki, Tampere or Oulu, but we can also hire remote employees in Finland.

As our backend engineer you will:

• Build and design scaling backend systems in a modern cloud environment
• Create services for handling sensitive user data in secure manner to support growing data needs
• Contribute technical expertise to the team, while mentoring junior engineers
• Collaborate with our customer experience, cloud development and data science experts and enjoy a fast feedback loop for the products you create
• Champion engineering excellence through driving continuous operational improvements and delightful developer experience at Oura
• Be part of choosing the future technologies used across the whole software development organization

We would love to have you on our team if you have some of the following:

• 6+ years of software development experience
• Experience in building data heavy applications with Python
• Strong competence in working with SQL databases
• Experience in AWS cloud infrastructure, containers and serverless architecture
• Have a proactive attitude and ability to take end-to-end ownership: taking a rough idea, working with others to turn it into a concrete feature or product
• Interest in great engineering practices improving developer experience
• Excited to learn how a great customer experience is built and empowered with technology
• Good communication skills in English. English is the de-facto language, no Finnish required

We are a business-critical team that builds internal services for efficient technical troubleshooting and automatic problem detection. We are passionate about providing the best tools for our customer experience experts and product developers.

Some buzzwords related to our current tech stack: Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, AWS, Pandas, Plotly, GCP, Firebase, Github actions.
