Micron’s Taiwan sites include sales and technical support in Taipei along with state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in Taichung and Taoyuan that together comprise the company’s DRAM Center of Excellence. The Center’s goal is to achieve the most efficient and effective technology and manufacturing ramp by combining front- and back-end manufacturing, product engineering and technology development roles.

Description 

As the Senior Manager, PD CMP & Wet Process, in Technology Development Taiwan (TDT), you will be accountable for setting a strategy for future technology development and engaging with suppliers to develop processes and equipment needed to meet Micron’s technology roadmap. You will work closely with the other Process Development teams, Process Integration, Manufacturing Development, and Planning to develop robust processes and prepare for pilot ramp and transfer. You will also work closely with Manufacturing and Manufacturing Central Teams to set overall company strategy for multiple process areas. Additionally, you will be responsible for career development for the members of your team and maintaining a safe environment by ensuring safety policy is followed for new processes, equipment, and personnel. 

You will collaborate closely with other DRAM Development site leaders to align on development strategies, deliverables and provide on-site support to drive various technology development projects. In this role, you will also partner closely with Micron’s Manufacturing and Central teams to apply best in class methods to develop for manufacturability.

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Maintain safe environment through proactive safety practices and by ensuring safety policies are always followed. 
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and manage a team of highly capable process engineers. 
  • Create a culture of innovation and tenacity within the team to meet the needs of accelerated technology cadence. 
  • Provide regular feedback to your team members on performance, develop career plans and mentor team members to support their professional development utilizing Micron’s performance planning and appraisal process. 
  • Set strategy for future technology nodes and help define roadmap. 
  • Engage with suppliers to develop the process and equipment needed to meet Micron’s technology roadmap. 
  • Collaborate with other process development, process integration, and manufacturing development organizations to align on project priorities and deliver robust, manufacturing friendly processes on time. 
  • Engage with Manufacturing Central Teams and lead worldwide alignment efforts across technology to improve area effectiveness. 
  • This position requires communication and collaboration with partners both locally and globally. Strict adherence to Micron Intellectual Property protection policy is a must. 
  • Qualifications and Skills include, but not limited to: 
  • Must be seen by current reports as an excellent mentor, team builder, motivator and technical expert with proven ability to solicit feedback, accept input, and analyze success/failure. 
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of one process area - Photo, Dry Etch, Thin Films, Wet Process, CMP. Experience in multiple areas preferred. 
  • Experience managing suppliers to meet Micron’s technical roadmap requirements. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead successful projects; demonstrated ability to form constructive relationships with partners, customers, and Consumable/equipment suppliers. 
  • Must offer strategic thinking within the context of the PDE leadership team in topics of team engagement, group morale, conducive working atmosphere and work culture. 
  • Must be able to instill a department culture within each team member in-line with the company core values. 
  • Must be an excellent communicator (verbal and written) and excel in communicating overall strategy within and outside the organization as needed. 
  • Demonstrated ability to take calculated risks challenging oneself and others to execute on new solutions. 

Requirements: 

  • M.S. or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or related fields. 2-3 years of experience working as a process development engineer in a R&D environment preferred (Not required). 
  • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience as lead or supervisor 
  • Have fluent understanding of surface and analytical characterization techniques such as ICPMS, TOF-SIMS, XPS, SEM, TEM, etc
  • Working knowledge of data analysis systems e.g.: Y3 and JMP to facilitate analysis of experimental data. Working knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE).
  • Proven communication and teamwork experience
  • Strong at solving complex problems including experience with leading cross-functional taskforces 
  • Flexible with international travel, including short or long-term assignments as needed 
  • Proficient in Mandarin and English languages
