JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Tax Analyst 

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Corporate Financial Manager

SUMMARY

The global tax environment is constantly evolving and becoming ever more intricate in what tax departments are required to report. In this role, the Tax Analyst will work to primarily support the compliance portion of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax reporting. Additionally, this person will have a significant role in identifying and redefining tax department processes to achieve greater efficiencies. You will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of team members on domestic and international tax projects to support tax initiatives, all within a well-established and growing company!

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Under general supervision is responsible for the following major tasks (check those that apply):

  • Prepare supporting documentation for preparation of federal, state and local corporate tax income returns, including US international tax reporting.
  • Calculate federal, state and local monthly, quarterly, and annual tax payment amounts and prepare check and ACH payment requests.
  • Compile and maintain tax depreciation and state tax apportionment data.
  • Ensure compliance and utilization of federal and state tax credits and incentives.
  • Maintain global tax due date calendar; oversight of compliance with all deadlines.
  • Assist in global tax audits and respond to notices from tax authorities.
  • Participate in global tax planning including; legal structure review, cash repatriation analysis with corporate Treasury team and monitoring global consolidated effective tax rate.
  • Calculate monthly income tax accruals and prepare journal entries.
  • Perform reconciliations for the federal, state and local tax balance sheet accounts.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of changes in tax legislation, rulings, regulations and litigation that may impact the business.
  • Participate in projects to identify inefficiencies and empowered to develop solutions that will help automate, streamline, and improve tax processes.
  • Reports to the Global Tax Manager and will work with other Finance managers as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of corporate income tax with a minimum 3+ years in public accounting and/or a corporate income tax department
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance or related
  • CPA, EA or Masters in Taxation preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of international tax issues and concepts along with familiarity of corresponding tax forms

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of US income taxation
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform in a multi-tasking constantly evolving environment while meeting department deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications, especially Excel

This position typically does not require any travel.
