Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Inspector for temporary duration of 24 months for a project with Qatar Energy LNG project in Ras Laffan. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of various mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, fire fighting systems, plumbing works, and electrical systems. The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure that all systems are installed correctly, tested thoroughly, and commissioned efficiently to meet project specifications and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC Systems:

  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of chillers, chilled water pumps, piping, air handling units, ventilation fans, smoke extract fans, exhaust fans, and HVAC ducting and accessories.
  • Balancing of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.

Fire Fighting Systems:

  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of diesel fire pumps, electric fire pumps, jockey fire pumps, pressure vessels, fire water tanks, fire fighting pipe networks, dry and wet sprinkler systems, FM 200 systems, fire hydrants, standpipe systems, and fire hose reels.

Plumbing Works (Potable Water):

  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of lifting pumps, distribution pumps, pressure vessels, potable water tanks, hot and cold-water piping works, copper piping works, PPR piping works, HDPE piping works, and D.I. piping works.

Plumbing (Drainage Works):

  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of micro tunneling, drainage manholes, transfer pumps, drainage penstock, drainage soakaways, vitrified clay pipes (VCP), HDPE pipes, RC pipes, GRP pipes, and uPVC pipes.

Electrical Works:

  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of transformers, low voltage switchgear, sub-main boards, distribution boards, small power systems, HV, MV, LV, and ELV cables, and public address systems.
  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of telecom systems and lightning protection systems.

Qualifications

Required Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Candidates with experience working from the client side are preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an HVAC inspector and MEP inspector for oil & gas projects.
  • Strong experience in witnessing, installation, and pre-commissioning activities related to HVAC and MEP systems.

Additional Information

The working hours for this position are 10 hours per day, spanning 26 days each month. This project operates on a man-day basis, meaning that employees will be compensated for the days they work. The standard workday is fixed at 10 hours. Employees will have Fridays off as their weekly rest day, but this day is not considered a paid day. However, if the client requires employees to work on Fridays, they will be eligible for overtime compensation at the net hourly rate.
