Job Summary and Qualifications

The Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas. These include:

• Follows specific procedure to perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new patients.
• Uses industrial cleaning agents and equipment following appropriate safety procedures.
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums.
• Moves furniture and other objects as needed in order to ensure adequate cleaning.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

What qualifications you will need:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English required
• Experience in housekeeping in healthcare setting preferred

HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is a 126-bed acute hospital. We offer a full range of Emergency, Surgical and Inpatient and Outpatient services. We have served Sebring, Florida, and the surrounding counties since 1965. We offer advanced technology, attracting the most qualified physicians and surgeons in the area. Our Emergency Room is the area’s only dedicated Senior ER. This features designated parking and hearing amplifiers. Our Orthopedic Institute provides an upscale environment for joint replacements. Patients are at ease in our facility. The hospital specializes in minimally invasive procedures. These result in shorter hospital stays and a faster recovery.
