£50,000 (rising to £52,000)

Create a performance orientated environment where business decisions are discussed and challenged based on reliable, relevant and timely financial data. They will generate value through fact-based insight and advisory, anticipating roadblocks and being proactive in suggesting solutions.

Responsibilities

Principal accountabilities:

  • Manage Financial Analyst priorities and responsibilities to drive efficiencies within the team and ensure timely deliverables.
  • Review management reporting for relevant process/business accountability. Review large variances with the business to understand drivers and provide explanations.
  • Orchestrate/Provide relevant data for ad hoc analysis and run scenarios.
  • Contribute to process improvement, process optimisation and special projects.
  • Support budget and forecast process to monitor and evaluate business performance against targets.
  • Leverage best practices across business units and sites to drive efficiencies and improve data availability.
  • Collaborate with all other Finance teams both locally and globally to ensure processes are followed and controls are performed to ensure financial statement accuracy.
  • Analyse financial reporting and flow down to operational teams to explain performance, educate the business on their impact on the organisation’s financial performance and understand key drivers. Challenge the business on recovery actions and risks and opportunities assessment.
  • Analyse financial reporting and explain monthly performance to the Business Leaders.

  • Actively support the development of Financial Analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing, coaching or mentoring as appropriate.

Qualifications

Candidate Requirements:

Candidates must:

  • Be a qualified member of a recognised Chartered Accounting body with at least 5 years’ relevant experience ideally in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

Additionally, the post-holder must possess and be able to demonstrate:

  • A sophisticated awareness of the impact of the environment on business strategies and how external factors affect choices.
  • The ability to establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with other departments.
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and tools.
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Applications in an accounting context.
