FogPharma

Why join us?

FogPharma is a biopharmaceutical company pioneering the discovery and development of Helicon™ therapeutics, which are peptides capable of efficient cell entry and modulation of both protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions. Through Helicon therapeutics, FogPharma is poised to revolutionize the medical possibilities for patients by precisely drugging intracellular targets long understood to be significant drivers of disease but never before drugged due to the limitations of existing drug modalities to act within the cell.

FOG-001, the company’s first-in-class TCF-blocking β-catenin inhibitor, is being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 study for patients with advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer. FogPharma is fully leveraging the unprecedented potential Helicons present by deploying proprietary, custom-built machine learning and computational methods as part of its discovery and development process. FogPharma has raised more than $500 million to date from leading life sciences investors. FogPharma is headquartered in Cambridge, Mass.

What’s the opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in bringing a new and potentially transformational drug modality to patients in need. We’re looking for a top scientist and experienced drug development team leader in Biology to drive cell and translational biology for multiple oncology programs against targets previously thought to be undruggable. Strategies for target inhibition include disruption of protein-protein interactions and targeted protein degradation. In this role, you’ll lead one of our cross-functional teams responsible for timely progression of a novel HeliconTM peptide from program nomination through IND filing. Success in the role will require innovation, scientific thought leadership, and excellent communication, program and people management skills.

  • Drive preclinical oncology programs forward from hit stage through IND with scientific excellence and urgency
  • Develop and execute strategy for target validation, cell activity screening, demonstration of in vitro and in vivo proof of concept, and identification of pharmacodynamic and patient selection biomarkers
  • Manage CROs for some molecular biology needs and for in vivo studies
  • Participate in evaluation and selection of new targets
  • Cross-functional leadership of a program team that will bring a novel HeliconTM peptide through preclinical studies and IND filing
  • Build and maintain a top-notch team of internal and external scientists and associates
  • Inspire and develop biology team members and foster extensive cross-functional collaboration
  • Clearly communicate strategy, execution plans, and results to all levels of the organization

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Cell or Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field with 15+ years post-degree experience with a minimum of 8+ years of program leadership and people management experience
  • Demonstrated success in leading oncology drug development programs from inception through IND, and driving multiple, parallel deliverables while executing on biology milestones
  • Enthusiastic and innovative mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-pasted, and highly collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, multi-tasking, flexibility, and team skills.
  • Able to work on-site and attend in-person meetings
