About the Opportunity

As the Finance Business Partner, you will be the primary point of contact for the provision of all finance services to designated customer groups (departments). You will deliver an effective balance of financial management and reporting, cost management, business strategy and advice to influence performance while embedding labour analytics and insights and driving best practice consistently across the portfolio on all aspects of Labour Management.

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • Lead in coordinating and preparing the annual Business Planning and rolling forecasting for the teams they support.
  • Work closely with teams to agree budget/forecast assumptions that can be used to derive volumes and produce financial plans
  • Work closely across the Division to ensure assumptions/volumes are communicated and agreed.
  • Embed labour analytics and insights and drive best practice consistently across the portfolio on all aspects of Labour Management
  • Develop financial plans and forecasts based on sound assumptions. Monitor and manage expenditure, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examining any areas where budgets and expenditure exceed their agreed tolerances. Assists with the definition and operation of effective financial control and decision making. Analyse actual expenditure, explains variances, and advises on options in use of available budget
  • Manage end-of-month and year end financial processes in accordance with Group timetables and accounting policies.
  • Ensure monthly LT and other reporting is completed on time and to a high standard. Monitor financial performance by proactively comparing financial activity against budget and providing accurate financial performance information and forecast of expected outcomes. 
  • Provide insight and advice on key performance indicators
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and business simplification initiatives

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant
  • 3 years’ experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting
  • Strong knowledge of business case development
  • High level financial analysis, modelling and business reporting skills
  • 8 years’ relevant post graduate business experience including accounting or commercial management role
  • Tertiary qualifications in fields of business, accounting and/or economics desirable
  • Strong Commercial Acumen
  • Strong Communication: listening, oral, written
  • Track record of effective Stakeholder Management Skills
