Freese and Nichols is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As Water/Wastewater Project Manager you will manage projects through study, design and construction phases of water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, large diameter pipelines, pipeline rehabilitation and utility work; develop scope/fee for said projects and support business development activities, including proposal development for water/wastewater related projects.

  • Serving as primary client contact, advising and informing them regarding project status and schedule
  • Communicating with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, partner firms, whose work or services are related to the project and communicating relevant information to the community, or technical groups with interests related to the project
  • Lead multiple project teams for municipal water and wastewater studies, such as: water and wastewater master plans, water distribution and sewer collection system hydraulic modeling, water quality modeling in distribution systems and asset management
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams
  • Coordinating phases of the work to ensure completion within the established time and budgetary constraints
  • Directing assignments, scheduling work and providing technical oversight for project staff including engineers, technicians, designers, drafters and field representatives
  • Reviewing progress to provide continuity, conformity, and quality
  • Checking calculations of others and sealing drawings and reports
  • Maintaining and expanding technical capabilities to ensure that projects utilize state-of-the-art technology
  • Work with utilities to solve complex issues and develop capital improvement plans

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Oklahoma with the ability to become licensed in Kansas and Arkansas, within 6 months.
  • 8+ years of related experience with study and design of pump stations, large and small diameter pipelines, and pipeline rehabilitation
  • Experience with GIS applications in water and wastewater planning a plus
  • Experience in client development, sales/marketing, proposal development
  • Excellent communication skills, both technical writing and verbal
