Investment Intern
$15.17 per hour

What You Will Be Doing:
This entry-level position conducts market research, portfolio analysis and performs administrative duties to develop a detailed understanding of Shelter’s investment portfolio, with an emphasis on alternative investments, including private equity, real estate, and private credit. This position will have exposure to all functions of the Investments Department, including fixed income and public equity.
This position will begin in fall 2024 and be part-time through at least the upcoming school year.
What We're Looking For:
- Basic finance and investment math; keyboarding skills
- Self-starter, personal initiative, high sense of responsibility and accountability
- Good communication, detailed orientated, superior organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple projects.
- Demonstrated interest in investment management/financial analysis as a career path (i.e., CFA candidates)
- Good personal computer skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on in Excel.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely to articulate investment ideas and strategies, including risk/return trade-offs.
- Proficiency in utilizing Bloomberg as a research/evaluation tool (or ability to learn), including integration of large data sets.
- Ability to gain understanding of market opportunities and risks and assist in evaluating portfolio positioning.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
