About the Team 

The pursuit of excellence at Morningstar is deeply ingrained in our culture and a key part of the value we bring to our clients. Market Insights and Analytics team is part of India Growth and Innovation Hub that supports global businesses and functions. Members of Market Insights and Analytics team will work on gathering market intelligence, collating metrics data from teams across India offices, developing analytical dashboards and generating insights to assist Leaders in decision making and managing teams using metrics.

The Role

The Business Intelligence Analyst conducts comprehensive data analysis and provides essential support across all functions within the India Growth and Innovation Hub. Utilizing data, they identify trends, perform critical analysis, and develop interactive dashboards and reports for leaders. Collaborating with teams, the Analyst helps design and implement analytics programs, generates reports, and ensures resource optimization and output maximization. Working closely with both business and IT teams, they transform data into actionable insights to facilitate sound business decisions. The Analyst oversees end-to-end BI dashboard development, from data sourcing to publication and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize diverse data and reporting tools such as Power BI and Advanced Excel for creating, maintaining, and managing dashboards to drive data-centric decision-making.
  • Develop and upkeep Data Architectures, Power BI datasets, Workspaces, SharePoint Folders, and reporting structures for compiling actionable insights.
  • Ensure timely reporting and automate processes using Power BI service and server administration.
  • Construct executive-level reports that present intricate quantitative data in a clear, intuitive manner with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Analyze data from various sources, identify trends/anomalies/outliers, synthesize raw data, and develop models to test hypotheses.
  • Offer design support for business intelligence solutions, gaining deep business understanding, and taking ownership of new report requests.
  • Interpret business requirements to determine optimal BI solutions.
  • Take charge of reporting daily, weekly, and monthly business metrics, delivering insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Train users and executives in utilizing reports, metrics, and actionable information effectively.
  • Drive efficiency in dashboard reporting through automation and reducing manual efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement best practices and optimize BI solutions.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in reporting, analytics, and business intelligence dashboard development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Analytics, etc., with a preference for a master’s degree.
  • Specialized training or certifications in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or Data Science.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in BI and data visualization tools such as Advanced Excel and Microsoft Power BI, including skills in DAX, Power Queries, Power Automate, RLS, BI service administration, and Data Architectures.
  • Extensive experience in querying large datasets and developing automated reporting solutions from structured and unstructured sources.
  • Ability to utilize various data types and reporting technologies to implement rigorous quantitative techniques efficiently.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing appealing BI dashboards for executive leadership and CXOs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data issues to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and interpersonal skills, coupled with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in defining and organizing tasks, responsibilities, and priorities.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as R, Python, and SQL for developing custom ETLs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) models for tasks including forecasting and statistical analysis is preferred.

  • MS Power BI Skills - Advanced DAX, Power Queries, Design, Power Automate, RLS and BI service administration.
  • Data Skills – Data Visualization, Data Analysis, Advanced Excel, Architecture Creation, Connections & Pipelining and Anomaly detection
  • Interpersonal Skills – Communication, Presentation, Problem Solving
