Principal Field Product Manager 

Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Product Specialist to join our team and have a direct impact on sales and product roadmap for the Data Protection portfolio that includes Zero Trust Branch, IoT/OT and various other products. In this role, you will become the ‘go to’ person for sales engineers and account reps. You will also gather requirements from customers and directly work with the product managers to influence the product roadmap. You will help us meet the requirements of our rapidly growing customer base and be game changers in the security space. You must possess a blend of business and technical skills, have a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality with extreme attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • You are the “go to” resource for customer interactions that exceed standard Systems Engineering support requirements (we always expect a baseline expertise in all areas from our SE’s, but augment them with specialists in the advanced or new technology areas)
  • Present to customers as our expert in SD-WAN and network security architecture and deployment at all levels in the customer hierarchy, from technician to CIO
  • Lead conversations about industry trends and emerging changes to the security landscape that every customer needs to be aware of and planning to deal with in regards to data protection
  • Discuss, with credibility, competitive offers in the marketplace and position ours as the best alternative
  • Lead and support customer demonstrations (with our SE’s) that showcase our unique value
  • Interact locally and remotely with customers in an equally persuasive manner
  • Enable SEs through production of whitepapers and other elevated technical collateral
  • Maintain bi-directional trusted advisor relationship with Product Management to drive client-based insights/feedback and future solution direction
  • The Specialists role is an overlay technical role that directly supports sales delivery of quota
  • The person is measured by their expertise and by their ability to lead to customer successes
  • Working with Product Management, Technical Marketing and R&D to create requirements and product features for our large customers and provide feedback from customers
  • Provide design consultation and best practice guidance for rollout, implementation, and policy conversion during the 'pre-sales' process for strategic opportunities
  • The Specialists will take ownership of advanced 'proof of concept' testing in strategic accounts either at the customer site or Zscaler lab facilities
  • Provide product update and enhancement training to other SEs in the region or theater
  • Provide demos for strategic prospects and current accounts in all facets of Zscaler offerings and integration in existing customer environments
  • Assist in the training of new Zscaler SEs in their designated region in installs customer presentations, and internally-focused deal preparation activities
  • Support relationship expansion with top existing partners for DLP security
  • Travel of 60%-80% within the AMS/EMEA region

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical fields
  • 7-10 years of experience as Sales Engineer, Consulting Engineer, SE specialists or Solution Architect
  • Must have working knowledge and hands on experience in SD-WAN, Routing protocols, Firewall, Switching, SSL, SWG, VPN
  • Experience delivering products as cloud-based services
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) – must be able to communicate at a business and technical level with internal teams, customers, partners and executives.
  • Leadership, drive, passion and charisma – ability to persuade, sell ideas and lead without authority.
