Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a Process Project Engineer to join our Process Engineering team in Toledo, OH! This position has the potential for remote work. 

We provide a full range of process engineering services in the industrial sector, partnering with clients to design new process and manufacturing facilities from the ground-up or to debottleneck and maintain existing plants to optimize their use. From developing conceptual designs for early stage site assessments, to providing full detailed design services and construction support, count on our team to develop a process solution that is both cost-effective and achieves our clients’ goals.

Responsibilities

  • Solve diverse and open-ended design problems.
  • Design process and manufacturing facilities for transforming raw materials into end products.
  • Identify, select, and recommend process equipment solutions.
  • Prepare heat & material balances, PFD’s / P&ID’s, equipment specifications, and design calculations.
  • Identify process safety hazards and recommend mitigations to reduce risk.
  • Specify instrumentation and process control requirements.
  • Develop full set construction documentation for projects.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multidiscipline design professionals on the project team, construction contractors, and external vendors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with our clients. 
  • Develop proposals for new project work and engage with clients throughout the sales process.
  • Prepare project budgets and work within them.
  • Provide construction admin services including shop drawing review and RFI response.
  • Provide project cost estimating support.
  • Perform field visits to operating and construction sites for data collection and inspections.
  • Direct the work of drafters, designers, and other engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an accredited university is required.
  • 5+ years of related process engineer experience with projects in the industrial and manufacturing markets is required.
  • Proficiency in process design is preferred (manufacturing processes, material balances, P&IDs, PFDs, equipment arrangements, equipment specifications).
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet-based design tools.
  • Drafting experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Hands-on project coordination experience is a plus.
  • PE license or EIT certification with the objective of getting licensure is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to visit various sites and safely maneuver amongst manufacturing equipment at various levels via stairs.
  • Ability to travel (potential of 5-10%/month) to visit clients for projects and in-plant work duties (may include some overnight travel in the US and international locations).
