We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Operations Project Manager who will use their expertise to enhance organization discipline and support the development of BigCommerce offerings. The right candidate will possess strong relationship building skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and the ability to manage multiple large-scale and complex projects from beginning to end.

What You’ll Do:

  • Simultaneously manage multiple, cross-functional projects of high-complexity in either technical or business functionality from beginning to end
  • Perform project management activities within company-wide initiatives that have activities or dependencies on Financial Operations
  • Create and manage project artifacts including project charters, schedules, roadmaps, risk/opportunity registers, activity lists, and reports
  • Advises on priorities, schedules, project scope, goals, success criteria, and deliverables that support business goals
  • Sets deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitors, and summarizes progress of project
  • Coordinates and tracks project milestones, deliverables and activities; ensures all project phases are documented appropriately
  • Ensures that project goals are accomplished on time and meet all business and system requirements
  • Responsible for compiling and communicating project status, identifying and resolving project problems and issues, assessing project risks and formulating mitigation plans/strategies and keeping upper management and project stakeholders informed of progress
  • Assist in establishing appropriate process controls and project governance
  • Administer the Financial Operations Jira for managed projects and business as usual activities including epic/task organization, time tracking, and boards, filters, dashboards, and report creation
  • Provide mentorship and assist in coordinating project management activities across Financial Operations
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, management information systems, or organizational behavior related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years of professional experience with: 
  • 3+ years of experience in project management
  • 3+ years of experience in business operations within a fast-paced technical environment
  • PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification or equivalent experience required
  • Experience in eCommerce and SaaS preferred
  • Experience in managing projects leveraging different software development and project management methodologies (agile and waterfall)
  • Proficient with project management software including Jira
  • Proficient with collaboration tools including Confluence
  • Experience delivering multiple concurrent, complex projects via globally distributed teams
  • A master problem solver with the ability to look for root causes, ask perceptive questions, and encourage the development of innovative and creative solutions 
  • An expert at developing, devising, and maintaining a workable plan/scheme to accomplish the needs of the project
  • An ability to elevate one's view; to take a broader organizational view; to discern the inter-relationships betweens; to connect seemingly unrelated events or conditions to the project
  • An ability to make the best choice from among many alternatives; can decide and act without having the total picture, can effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably, can handle risk and uncertainty
  • A strong capability to "get things done;" knows who to go to for help, wins approval of requests for support, shows respect for individuals regardless of position, maintains a network of contacts from whom to get assistance, appreciates the scarcity of resources and manages them carefully
