Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for a Renewables Project Manager to join our growing Renewable Energy practice in the West region. This individual will have a strong background in project management along with experience in renewable energy. This position will work with the HDR Power Generation and Renewable Practice Leads to provide development engineering support and owner’s engineering (OE) support across all service lines and client asset types. This individual will also manage the development of contract documents for construction, including coordination with HDR’s civil, electrical, and structural engineering and environmental staff. They will provide consulting and project management for renewable energy projects throughout HDR’s West Region and Nationally, as appropriate.

Responsibilities may include preparing proposals, including scope, schedule, and budget, and managing multi-disciplinary teams. They will also be expected to work closely with HDR national and regional Renewable Energy leadership to develop client relationships and provide strategic thinking for our clients and programs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience which must include at least two years in the renewable energy industry, specifically in the areas of solar, battery storage, other de-carbonized novel generation technologies and/or micro‐grids.
  • A minimum of three years of C&I or Utility Scale Renewable project management experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant within our employee-owned culture.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support multiple complex and time sensitive projects effectively.
  • Ability to identify and resolve challenges effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work under and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with design and construction teams in a positive and proactive manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or prior experience with utility scale Renewable Energy project permitting
  • Knowledge of regional Interconnection Study Processes
  • PMP or other formal Project Management training certification
  • Experience in multiple renewable energy technologies (wind, solar, battery storage)
  • Relevant client management experience
