Twin Cities Community Hospital, a 122-bed acute care hospital, has been caring for the communities of Northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. With a medical staff of more than 200 physicians and 400 caregivers and support staff, the hospital specializes in emergency care, obstetrics, orthopedics, digestive disorders, wound care and a broad array of medical, surgical and outpatient services. Twin Cities Community Hospital earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® with distinction for its knee replacement program and was the first hospital in San Luis Obispo County to earn the LGBTQ Healthcare Equality “Leader” designation from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. In addition, the hospital is recognized as a Blue Distinction Center+ for Knee and Hip Replacement Surgery. Baby-Friendly USA designated Twin Cities Community Hospital as an internationally recognized Baby-Friendly birth facility. Position Summary
The incumbent shall be responsible for providing a full range of physical therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment, consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the State of California
Current AHA – BLS
Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Associations accredited Physical Therapy degree program
Experience in working with an adult and geriatric population is necessary
Experience with a disabled population in a hospital setting is desirable
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essentials
Pay Range: $47.33 - $73.34
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience

Education:
Required: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy
Preferred: Doctorate Physical Therapy
Experience:
Preferred: 2 years as a practicing PT in a healthcare setting

Required: State Licensure
Physical Demands:
Responds to physician orders for physical therapy. Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients. Reviews patient charts and progress prior to treatment and modifies treatment plan accordingly. Develops functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations. Develops, improves, and restores functional mobility, seeking to return patient to highest level of independence. Seeks clarification of physician orders as needed.
