Proactive and dynamic benefits leader sought as a key member of the Human Resources team. A successful incumbent works with operational effectiveness and discretion to address benefits matters, carrier relationships, special projects, and compliance. This position collaborates closely with payroll, the HR team, IT, and other DNC departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures timely and excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Created solid relationships organization wide to establish the Benefits department as trusted partner for the DNC.
  • Effectively explain benefits programs, communicate to various leaders, vendors, and employees
  • Knowledge in HRIS and benefits software and vendor portals
  • Drive and own the onboarding process to efficiently enroll all new hires into their designated benefit options
  • Administer, audit and maintain DNC healthcare plans
  • Administer, audit and maintain DNC retirement Plan
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments and deductions
  • Monitor HR Helpdesk tickets to resolve benefits related questions and issues
  • Full responsibility and accountability for annual open enrollment 
  • Creates metrics and evaluates reports, to make data driven decisions to support established goals. 
  • Support HR with employee/personnel projects and reporting 
  • Maintain accuracy and timely Human Resource Information System records 
  • Administer, audit, maintain and communicate benefit enrollments, changes and terminations. 
  • Ensures accurate and detailed record keeping, including timely reconciliation of all benefits statements 
  • Regularly presents detailed benefits information
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in a benefits or similar role
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a history of effectively managing teams and projects 
  • Proactively identify knowledge gaps and demonstrate a sense of urgency to correct and resolve concerns. 
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn systems, processes, procedures. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively build partnerships with staff. 
  • Dedication to discretion and confidentiality
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Able to multitask, communicate progress and meet deadlines. 
  • Sound judgment, enthusiasm, can-do attitude, diplomacy, with the ability to be proactive 
  • Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneously 
  • Experience with Zendesk, Monday.com, and UKG a plus
  • General knowledge of employment laws preferred but not required
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

The starting salary for the Benefits Manager position is $80,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends.
