What you will be doing:

Management accounting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure proper documentation.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts recei along with balance sheet and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Other accounting support as required by local and international accounting teams.

Financial reporting and audit

  • Assisting with annual financial preparations
  • Provide necessary documentation and explanations during audit processes.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with internal financial departments and with external auditors to assist with the on-time delivery of all audits. 

Tax compliance

  • Assist with indirect tax returns including GSTR1, Annual GSTR-9 and GST refunds.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors to collate required information for tax compliance purposes.
  • Support internal tax team with inhouse research, inputs and local knowledge related to taxation matters.
  • Support with annual tax audit and assist in computation and filing of self-assessment tax return and SFT return.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the organisation.

Statutory reporting

  • Support with filing of annual return
  • Participate in visits to government offices - Income Tax, GST, EPFO
  • Statutory reporting requirements – filing of licenses and certificates.
  • Report submission to government portals including but not limited to DGFT, MCA, IT, EPFO, GST

What we look for:

Essential

  • A Chartered Accountant (CPA) possessing at least five years of experience, including a background at a BIG4 firm.
  • Equivalent of bachelor’s degree in accounting;
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP, etc. GST, local GAAP, statutory filings)

Desirable

  • Background in working for a logistics sector.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems with previous experience working with Oracle systems.
  • Flexibility to work with team members in different time zones daily.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Have strong system skills on Excel.
