Job Description Summary

  • The Generator Process Engineer is responsible for the creation of, operation plan for manufacturing and improvement of high-performance tooling. This includes the design and programming of tooling, as well as the preparation of Manufacturing Operation Plan (MOP), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Manufacturing Process Plan (MPP), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and control plans.

This role requires a deep understanding of generator manufacturing and operational processes, design, and generator function for the following subprocesses:

  • Stator bars.
  • Stator Core stacking.
  • Stator winding.
  • Rotor Winding.
  • Generator Assembly.
  • Generator Run test.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • EHS Management: Participate in the risk assessment (RA) in their area and implement preventive actions in line with EHS framework/LSPs/NNB applicable standards.
  • Design and Development: Design and develop efficient and reliable tooling for generator manufacturing.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with generator manufacturing and operational systems. Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult the engineering team for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and coordination across operations.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical specifications and documents. Ensure experience and lessons learned are properly fed back to FMEA analysis.
  • Behavior: Demonstrate appropriate leadership behavior to guide the team and standard work/Daily Management System (DMS).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred:

Professional Engineering (PE) certification.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven experience in generator tooling design and process engineering works for more than 8 years in large turbo generators.
  • Hands on experience related to Auto cad or equivalent for tooling design fluency.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electrical and manufacturing systems.
  • Sound knowledge related to Generator major components manufacturing process and practical know how.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Note:
