Equity Capital Markets Product Controller, Analyst

Launch your career as a Product Controller with the Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) line of business within JPMorgan provides clients with advisory and financial structuring services.

As an Analyst, in the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) group within Product Control you will support with the PnL and risk production for Equity Capital Markets businesses which focus on public and private equity raise with daily PnL and risk reporting, block trades, and private placements. You will partner across various functional areas such as Syndicate Desk, Business Management, Planning & Analysis, Legal, Client Billing, Legal Entity Controller, and Financial Control in overseeing the financial results for North America ECM. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for P&L, risk reporting and commentary for Equity Capital Markets 
  • Month-end close – ensuring accurate and complete close-out of books & records for the month and resolution of any discrepancies in the results
  • Investigation, explanation and communication of business drivers underpinning significant financial movements and variances for Front Office, Legal Entity Controllers, Corporate Reporting and other IB and Corporate Finance groups.
  • Validate income attributions for intra-regional and cross border transactions are in line with the Global Transfer Pricing tax rules 
  • Oversee the monthly validation of Legal Entity results, Volcker, Regulation W transactions, and Fee concessions 
  • Tracking, analyzing and investigating Equity Capital Markets RWA, Liquidity Outflow, spot and average balance sheet and related performance measures
  • Support the Balance Sheet, Capital and External Reporting, Month and Quarter End Reporting and Forecasting and Planning Cycles by working with key finance contacts in Product Control and Central CIB Reporting 
  • Continuous improvement through review of current practices/processes, identifying deficiencies and/or weaknesses, and delivering solutions to enhance the current control and reporting environment

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting and 2+ years related business experience required
  • Dynamic team player able to adapt to changing environment and multiple demands
  • Self-starter, independent worker, ability to think outside of the box
  • Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills: able to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including extensive experience using Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license
  • Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including extensive experience using Excel and PowerPoint, Alteryx, Xceptor, and Tableau; experienced in writing macros.
  • Controls focused and strong attention to detail is key; accounting qualification preferred but not essential
  • Organized and comprehensive project management approach
