International Payroll Specialist

Company Description

DPR Construction is an international general contractor for high-tech construction projects (data centers and life sciences). We have grown from zero to around 150FTE’s in Europe in the last three years and are currently looking for a Payroll specialist professional with the focus on payroll (domestic and shadow) and HRIS systems (Workday, E-time, CMiC) to support our finance team in the Amsterdam office. You will be reporting directly to the CFO for Europe.

Job in a nutshell

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for all payroll (domestic and shadow) related questions, you will ensure a smooth payroll process with help of our outsourced payroll provider whilst ensuring accuracy, correctness, and completeness. The strive for continuous improvement and a process mindset are skills we would like to see embedded in the future candidate as well.

Your tasks

Payroll

  • Be the first point of contact for all payroll related queries (internally & externally for our outsourced payroll provider)
  • Ensure performance of outsourced payroll provider is at the right quality level, otherwise initiate improvements.
  • Monitor the monthly payroll in 4 different countries in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, United Kingdom)
  • Support with the setup of payroll in new countries and coordinate with our outsourced payroll provider
  • Monitor and align with external payroll partners to understand local policies
  • Responsible for overall monthly payroll reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement with our external payroll provider to optimize payroll processes
  • Ensure payroll tax compliance in cooperation with the EU employment tax manager

What you bring to the table

  • 3-7 years’ experience in payroll administration
  • PDL diploma is a definitive plus
  • Proven experience working with an outsourced payroll provider 
  • Proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced environment required
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws in Europe (e.g. benefits in kind)
  • Strong knowledge of shadow payroll is a must
  • Knowledge of Workday and any other HRIS is a clear plus
  • Working accurate with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational-, coordination- and time management skills
  • Effective working and proper prioritization of activities in a dynamic work environment
  • Proactive and independent personality with a strong service orientation
  • International mindset
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills, German and Dutch is a plus
  • Confident use of MS Office applications, especially good knowledge of Excel is beneficial
