Position overview:

The Senior Financial Accountant role takes responsibility for efficient financial reporting and ensuring that transactions/balances are not only appropriate in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards, but ensuring that financial information is accurate for the Commercial Finance teams, and the business as a whole.

Position responsibilities:

  • Assist the Group Finance and Technical Accounting Manager with collating, preparing and reviewing the annual and half-year financial report.
  • Liaise with Auditors to provide information and ensuring that internal deadlines are met by the wider business for this purpose.
  • Review, adjust and document Group accounting and internal control policy, for further review.
  • Ownership of various accounting areas for month and year-end reporting purposes.
  • Review the work of the Assistant Accountant, assisting with their queries where necessary
  • Ad-hoc accounting tasks as required.

  • Comply with reasonable and lawful direction provided by your manager

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Accountancy (or equivalent) with internationally recognised organisation.
  • 4+ year of experience (1+ year post-CA qualification) 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards • Experience with internal control assessment and improvement is a plus
  • Big-4 or mid-tier professional service firm experience preferred
  • ASX reporting experience is advantageous but not essential
