As a key member of the Group External Reporting & Advice team, you will have a mix of responsibilities. Your primary role will be centred around the supporting the execution of the external reporting for the Group in conjunction with the Group External Reporting Manager at half-year and year-end. In addition, you will also support the Consolidation and the Technical Accounting sub-teams outside of the half-year and year-end reporting periods, including ad-hoc projects driving continuous improvement of end-to-end processes, ensuring key transactions are correctly captured whilst maintaining integrity and confidence in numbers.

This role requires strong organisational skills to be able to work under pressure, prioritise conflicting objectives and deliver key milestones. With a wide-ranging scope of responsibilities and stakeholders, this role will provide you with significant development and future career opportunities. The role offers exposure to a breadth of accountings transactions and issues, and the opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams across the Group.

You’ll have:

  • A degree in a business-related discipline, with specific finance and accounting emphasis
  • Accreditation with CA/CPA or equivalent, with 2-5 years post-qualification experience
  • Interest in statutory accounting with strong technical accounting skills and ability to interpret accounting and reporting requirements
  • The ability to grasp complex issues and communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • A strong analytical mindset with a meticulous eye for detail, whilst still being able to see the longer strategic vision for the Group
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high degree of flexibility to engage other teams to provide data as required
  • A good understanding of and experience in working with Hyperion Financial Reporting/MFR is beneficial, but not essential
  • Experience in a large accounting firm and/or large ASX listed business highly desirable
