Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Supply Chain Engineer to join our team. This role is a focal point for resolving complex technical issues concerning the design and assembly of supplied engineered components. The successful candidate will provide engineering support to the Sustainment and New Product Introduction teams. This role is key to the early development and implementation of new products and continued support of legacy parts sourced from the supply chain, including machined piece parts, engineered components, sub-assemblies, and procured consumables.

Responsibilities Include

Work with suppliers of Intellectual Property (IP) to define specifications and requirements for products such as LVDTs, solenoid valves, temperature sensors, pressure transducers, and electrical coils specifically for NPI programmes.

Manage obsolescence associated predominantly with piece parts (elastomers, metallurgy & chemicals, i.e., Loctites, resins, potting compounds, etc.).

Perform GD&T analysis of assemblies and components to support acceptance of non-conforming parts.

Evaluate and approve supplier design/process change requests.

Manage requirements, validation & verification performance specifications & testing experience (comparison testing).

Identify programme risks, develop and execute mitigation plans.

Identify Critical to Quality Characteristics and use industry-standard tools including APQP, DFMEA, and PFMEA.

Provide technical briefs to stakeholders (Internal or External).

Conduct product integrity investigations related to the technical and customer requirements.

Key Skills and experience:

A qualification within a relevant engineering discipline such as a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). We will consider applications from individuals with a lower qualification if they can demonstrate substantial relevant experience in a previous role.

A minimum of 10 years relevant Aerospace engineering experience with a thorough knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles and preferably with design and project management skills.

Ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders at key suppliers to ensure design compliance for all purchased commodities.

Proficient and confident presenter able to communicate well across all organizational levels.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Supplier Development experience would be preferable.

Six Sigma trained or equivalent and have the ability to analyze data using tools such as Minitab.

Ability to work collaboratively but also self-motivated to own and deliver objectives independently.

Ability to lead problem-solving initiatives from identification to resolution.
