Job Description Intel Foundry Services (IFS) is an independent foundry business that is established to meet our customers' unique product needs. We are seeking a passionate SoC Functional Validation Engineer to join our team. As an SoC Functional Validation Engineer in IFS you will be responsible for developing and executing extensive functional test suites using internally developed and industry standard tools to thoroughly validate IPs and SOC products in both pre-silicon emulation and post-silicon environments. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: � Define, develop, and perform functional validation for integrated SoCs, focusing on validation of IP integration, interaction between IPs, and system level features. � Apply various hardware and software level tools and techniques to ensure validation coverage and that performance, power, and area goals are met. � Review proposed design changes to assess impact on validation plans, tasks, and timelines. � Develop SoC validation methodologies, validation test plans, execute validation plans, and collaborate with other engineers for design optimization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis. � Perform silicon debug to identify root cause and resolve functional failures for SoC issues. � Test interactions between various SoC features using validation infrastructure. � Develop post-silicon validation infrastructure (e.g., performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state space coverage) and test environment used in validation testing. � Publish SoC validation reports summarizing all validation activities performed, review results, and communicate to relevant teams. � Work with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to maintain and improve debug, validation test strategy, methodologies, and processes for SoC interfaces and to meet desired product specifications. � Develop content to create or increase specific IP interactions using a variety of tools and techniques (including patching techniques using microcode, firmware, or custom OS builds). � Engage in all phases of the product life cycle and develop and validate content, infrastructure, and bug hunts in multiple environments (e.g., simulation, emulation, FPGAs) to ensure silicon readiness. The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits: � Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, as well is good written and verbal communication skills. � Willingness to work cross-geo/site when needed to accomplish results.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications: � Master of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 1+ years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience. � 1+ year of experience with digital electronics and logic design and CPU Architecture. � 1+ year of experience with subsystem HW/SW stack, including the silicon, onboard HW components and connectors and devices, BIOS, drivers, and applications. � 1+ year of experience with post-silicon debug using ITP/JTAG, Logic Analyzers and Oscilloscopes. � 1+ year of experience with software programming, preferably in C/C++ and Python languages. How to Stand out (Preferred Qualifications): � Master of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience. � Knowledge of USB protocol and experience with validating USB subsystems in a pre-silicon emulation and/or post-silicon environment. � Experience with pre-silicon validation using System Level Emulators and/or FPGAs. � Experience developing post-silicon and emulation-based SoC test content using C/C++. � Knowledge of ARM, NoC (Network on a Chip), and DDR5 memory subsystems � Experience working on Power, Thermal and performance validation

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
