About The Role:

Established Design Engineering professional. Carries out design engineering activities, conducts design analysis, makes layouts of components, designs new products, maintains existing products, and resolves design problems.

Role Purpose:

  • The candidate will develop new HVAC products that meet future environmental regulations and implement next generation technologies.
  • The candidate will work alongside product development engineers, test lab technicians, model makers and designers in a team environment. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Use existing vapor compression modelling systems to model and validate new product designs.
  • Coordinate prototype builds and verification testing of new designs in psychrometric rooms.
  • Collaborate with designers to specify new components/parts and review bill of materials, taking into consideration feedback from manufacturing, marketing, quality, and service parts in the final design.
  • Support gated reviews, contributing to the presentation in both providing material and conveying the material verbally.
  • Take on ad-hoc assignments as needed.
  • Effective interfacing with other functional groups such as Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing and suppliers is necessary. 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years' experience in design engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Fundamental understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics
  • Self-starter with ability to learn quickly and work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a diverse audience
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
