Responsibilities

We are looking for a Staff-level EM/RF designer who will work closely with the RFIC/mmWave-IC team and module team to deliver the highly integrated 5G front-end products. The designer will play an important role in design/simulating/inventing key circuits blocks within the 5G front-end module.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of electromagnetic and RF and be a driven, committed team player. The designer will be responsible for EM design of active and passive RF front-end circuits for 5G NR bands within the context of wireless communications systems. The candidate will be expected to innovate and work in a fast-paced market to help to define and realize products for next generation wireless communication systems. As part of our EM/RF design team, the designer will be responsible for designing and simulating all passive aspects of front-end module designs including output matching networks, integrated passive devices, high-directivity daisy-chain couplers, harmonic filters, and high isolation layouts using advanced EM design and simulation techniques.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 5+ years’ experience is required. MS+3 or PhD preferred in the area of EM/RF.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively with other members of the product development team.
  • Deep understanding of RF and microwave theories and concepts, such as S-parameters, transmission lines, couplers, dividers etc.
  • Experience in design and modeling of front-end module packaging, parasitic, transitions, etc.
  • Experience in design, analysis and implementation of on-die passives for high efficiency, wideband power amplifiers and low-noise amplifiers.
  • Experience in design, analysis and implementation of RF / mm-wave switches.
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor technologies for RF / mm-wave applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RF and wireless front-end components, systems and various transceiver architectures.
  • Proficient using RF / mm-wave design tools such as HFSS, Keysight ADS, EMX, ADS Momentum, etc
  • Experiences in mm-wave characteristic instruments. Probe station experience is a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600 - $210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
