- Manage, perform, and administer unique scientific research studies on human subjects using specialized equipment. in a lab environment.
- Strategically calibrate and operate intricate breast CT machine/s and other advanced x-ray based imaging systems to conduct research. Troubleshoot equipment as necessary.
- Independently oversee quality control and help prepare innovative medical imaging protocols, procedures, and techniques for specific research studies. This includes generating data, reporting research findings and keep the PI and colleagues informed of the findings.
- Plan, design, construct, and adapt sophisticated lab equipment/instrumentation processes using extensive knowledge and technical expertise.
- Make equipment user-design improvements for the end-user and provide suggestions for workflow implementation of research studies.
- Recommend process changes and lab procedure changes.
- Serve as a program liaison and subject matter expert to communicate updates to leadership, including Director, Research Scientist, and Post Doc, as well as other staff.
- For each research study, write procedures and techniques for the operation/best use of the equipment.
- Participate in human subjects recruitment including scheduling, contacting, and obtaining informed consent from study participants.
- Coordinate with and advise physicians for timely interpretation of study results.
- Oversee the design and testing of samples and collecting data for data analysis.
- Maintain care documentation of projects and research data records in both electronically and hard copy.
- Ensure validation of work to adhere to SOPs of quality, safety, and reliability.
- Update needed databases.
- Maintain and manage inventory and order supplies for high tech equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to assist and position volunteers for research studies.
