Researcher/Scientist III (Part-Time)

  • Independently lead, develop, design, manage, and conduct moderately complex auditory neurophysiological experiments (noise-induced hearing loss, auditory brainstem response recording, and auditory cortical recording). Perform electrophysiological research.
  • Manage the laboratory and oversee daily operations of the research, including the strategic development of new techniques, methods, procedures, and protocols to meet the aims of the project. Ensure all personnel practice and are compliant with regulations, laboratory practice, and training requirements.
  • Ensure proper working order of laboratory equipment. Evaluate the research lab needs for supplies, equipment, and new technologies, and order as appropriately.
  • Responsible for data collection and data analysis to contribute to research publications.
  • Maintain detailed records of studies, organizes data, and prepares data for scientific reports.
  • Write or co-author manuscripts.
  • Management and oversight of mouse colonies.
  • May supervise support personnel, including graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Serve as a resource to other research staff, as needed, for trouble shooting difficulties with assays and other laboratory procedures.
