JOB TITLE: 

Event Management Intern

JFNTMP

JOB PURPOSE: 

  • Gain experience in event management of all 17 Wyoming athletic sports.
  • Build knowledge of proper methods in maintaining different athletic facilities.
  • Gain experience in dealing with a variety of constituents involved in athletics and expanding professional network.
  • Learn the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks involved in operating athletic facilities and producing events.
  • Develop experience in multitasking, working in stressful environments, and making quick decisions.

PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION WON'T BEGIN UNTIL AUGUST 2024

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist with setup/breakdown of playing surface, press area, and spectator sections.
  • Help serve as liaison to visiting teams, officials, and other guest to athletic events.
  • Assist with Landmark event staff administering credential checks and monitoring crowd control. 
  • Staff will have the opportunity to work other events including: Football State High School Championships, athletic camps, concerts, private rental events, etc.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be a full time student enrolled at the University of Wyoming
  • Must be able to work most athletic events (soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, track & field, wrestling, etc.) and ALL football games
  • Some manual labor required: lifting, walking up stairs & ramps, standing for periods of time and dealing with various weather conditions during outdoor events

  • Ability to work as a team member
