Your main responsibilities will be:

  1. Build a stable and strong central control team in close relation with all local controller and/or CFOs and Regional functions to strengthen the closing control environment. 
  2. Lead, drive and organize the stakeholders to deliver high quality and timely quarterly results:
  • Maintain a high-quality control framework and ensure appropriate documentation is effective (internally and for audit purpose)
  • Build strong relationship with the FP&A team to maintain live communication and alignment of results between expectations and production.
  1. Be an effective leader: decision support as needed, proper communication of risks and issues, ensure that a high-quality work environment is fostered.

Key duties and responsibilities

Under the responsibility of Scor SE Finance Director, you will:

Steer the quarterly entity results sign off process on a multi GAAP basis (French IFRS, Solvency II)

  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external audit to ensure there is a consistent view across all parts of the control environment and help continually improve this at Legal Entity level.
  • Monitor quarterly results and analysis for the Legal Entity with a focus on branches standalone KPIs, Legal Entity P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Ensure consistency and follow up on entity clearance presentation and results,
  • Ensure Group and solo quantitative reporting process includes reconciliation of data to other key financial data (ie EBS and IFRS)
  • Document SCOR SII positions (i.e. valuation principles and other) and ensure proper sign off approval and regular updates
  • Ensure ICS controls are relevant and up to date

Manage the following analysis to various stakeholders for the Legal Entity

  • Prepare quarterly and annual board documentation
  • Review French GAAP annual financial statements 
  • Monitor Solvency II quantitative and narrative reports and prepare adequate analysis on Solvency 2 results to allow the appropriate governance 
  • In close Collaboration with EMEA Reserving and EMEA FP&A teams provide performance analysis of SCOR SE and each branch 
  • SecondFinance Director in finance projects if required.

Contribute to enhance financial processes for the entity (technical, expenses, investments, treasury, capital, compliance, taxes, etc.) and ensure alignment and consistency with Group financial processes. 

Internal flows review: 

  • Review internal retrocession plans and contracts, 
  • Analyse capital injection impact and loan efficiency

Finance transformation involvement:

You will support the execution of the Scor SE Finance Director roadmap and mandate in the following areas:

  • Deliver enhanced operational efficiency by standardizing and mutualizing processes. 
  • Reduce closing times and optimize tasks, as well as simplify and harmonize all processes within the Scor SE Finance Team.
  • Strengthen procedures (review, improve and document the existing or set up new process)

Build strong collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders 

Required experience & competencies

Experience: 

  • Master’s Degree in Accountancy, Actuary or Finance minimum, or a candidate with an equivalent level of relevant experience,
  • At least 7 years post qualification experience in the reinsurance or insurance sector,
  • Have financial audit experience, with an understanding of audit processes and financial controls, 
  • Strong expertise in analysis and reporting,
  • Strong knowledge in French GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II environments,
  • Strong knowledge of insurance/reinsurance business and principles,
  • Programme management experience (not necessarily as project lead) is desirable,
  • Good understanding of actuarial and risk matter of interests is a plus.

  • Strong ability to priortise deliverables and to escalate / engage with stakeholders as approrpaitely,

  • Rigorous, Flexible, well organized and proactive with ability to prioritize, you shall have strong capabilities to adapt yourself to a challenging and demanding environment.

Digital Competencies:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills,
  • Experience of working with process automation software is desirable but not essential.
