The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for performing a variety of financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, assisting with financial planning, performing research and analysis, preparing reports, and assisting with close processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage overall corporate-wide planning and forecasting process
  • Build, enhance, maintain planning platform, including changes to configuration, security, and architecture as required
  • Investigation and analysis of variances to plan and forecast and for business unit trust accounting.
  • Preparing operational and financial analysis on revenues, operating expenses, and overhead expenses
  • Preparation of annual budgets, both capital and operating. Preparation of periodic financial operating forecasts
  • Perform income statement and balance sheet financial analysis
  • Preparation of cost models for specific operating expense lines
  • Preparation of individual P&L models for annual budget process, and periodic forecasting
  • Work with Operations Excellence team to develop operational/financial metrics
  • Provide recommendations to management to improve financial performance and process efficiencies
  • Support operating business units in general accounting when required
  • Work closely with Finance and Operations to develop best practices on reporting and planning
  • Evaluate processes from a quality perspective
  • Communicate and present best practices to Senior management
  • Research and resolve Business Unit(s) inquiries for assigned functional areas.
  • Routine communication with Operations relating to financial close, issues and deliverables.
  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for assigned functional areas:
  • Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations.
  • Complete and submit Reporting Deliverables.
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of the periodic management reporting of financial results for assigned functional areas:
  • Prepare all Financial Reporting requirements packages.
  • Lead and review Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
  • Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
  • Champion company core values and other company programs
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Finance or Accounting, is required
  • Previous Financial Analysis experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Previous experience in the collection or financial industry, would be an asset

Certificates, Licenses, & Registration:

Employees in these jobs must possess one or more of the following certifications: Certified General Accountant (CGA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
