Job Description:

Title: I&C Engineer (or Technician)

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Our client provides services to industrial and manufacturing clients including: Mining, Power Production, Tobacco, Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Pharmaceutical, Fibers & Plastics, and Government Contracts (State & Federal).

We are looking for an individual to perform design, install, upgrades, repair and commissioning of PLC/DCS/HMI and instrumentation (P&ID) involved.

We are open to mid-senior level technicians OR Engineers. BS not required.

Job Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Develop P&IDs. Develop PLC programs using ladder and function block.
  • Configure HMI/PLC/DCS applications.
  • Design controls networks using multiple hardware/software platforms.
  • Develop drawings and wiring schematics for instrumentation, communications networks, and control panels with bill of materials (BOM).
  • Develop and troubleshoot instrumentation (flowmeters, analyzer, motors, valves, etc.)
  • Develop technical and operations manuals for projects.
  • Perform detailed system research and recommend project components to clients.
  • Work in cross functional teams and provide technical support to other engineering groups, departments, vendors, and customers.
  • Actively engage in design discussions and propose ideas for project enhancement, cost reduction, and feasibility.
  • Manage project development, scoping, schedule, team correspondence, and meetings.
  • Travel to local customer sites and provide support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Education / Experience / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred NOT required.
  • Minimum of 4 years (ideally 7+) of instrumentation and controls engineering OR technician experience required including installation and maintenance of PLC/HMI and instrumentation systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, good communication skills (written and oral), good teamwork skills.
  • Desire to accept new challenges and learn new tasks.
