Job Summary: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for portfolio analytics, financial risk management, and high-level market analysis for a $15+ billion Commercial Mortgage Loan (CML) portfolio. The position is highly visible and is integral to Voya’s Real Estate Finance group (“REFG”) and requires coordinating and communicating with various groups within and outside Voya. 

The Real Estate Portfolio Analyst will establish a deep understanding of Voya’s CML portfolio and its underlying real estate collateral. The candidate will act as a strategic thought partner on issues facing the portfolio and will develop processes to monitor risk elements and performance contributors. The position will assist in market research and prepare macro CML market presentations for distribution to internal management and third-party clients. The candidate will also manage data accuracy, reporting tools, and overall portfolio analytics for the Voya REFG team. Primary relationships include third-party service providers, other REFG teams, Voya IT, multiple external clients and REFG Fund Administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Analytics:

  • Develop and track CML portfolio performance tools like dashboards, rating migrations, loan metric trends, etc., to help senior management in performance and risk measurement
  • Enhance and manage processes for early detection of potential problem loans
  • Run portfolio stress and exposure analysis
  • Assist in CML annual and quarterly loan review process
  • Work with senior CML management and constituents on ad-hoc portfolio analytics projects

Portfolio Reporting:

  • Coordinate with IT team to ensure timely data flow between different software and platforms involving CML data
  • Ensure data accuracy by performing data validation processes periodically
  • Provide ad-hoc reports and respond to survey requests from internal and external stakeholders

Market Research:

  • Continuously monitor developments in real estate and overall US financial markets
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly market updates highlighting Voya CML house views on market conditions

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 0 - 2 years of experience in commercial real estate financial analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate or finance
  • Understanding of commercial real estate mortgages and basic accounting principles
  • Excellent analytical, written and interpersonal skills; attention to detail, adherence to deadlines and the ability to collaborate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (especially pivot tables, lookups)
  • Knowledge of Rockport (or other CML software) preferred
  • Experience with AI platforms and database management a plus

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$85,000 - $100,000 USD
