The Alcon team is looking for a talented and motivated Co-op to join us onsite for the Summer + Fall at the Houston, TX location. Alcon Co-ops will have the opportunity to not only gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals. They will also have the chance to make a real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly. Alcon also offers Co-ops personal and professional development, high visibility and coaching and mentoring opportunities.

Please note, this co-op tenure is May/June - December, 2024

Position Responsibilities:

  • Planning and forecasting the demand and supply of various product categories.
  • Negotiating and maintaining contracts with suppliers and vendors, ensuring quality, quantity, price, and delivery terms.
  • Monitoring and analyzing inventory levels, turnover, and replenishment cycles, and implementing actions to reduce excess or obsolete stock.
  • Preparing and reviewing reports and performance indicators, such as weeks of cover and past due POs.
  • Identifying and resolving issues and discrepancies related to purchasing, inventory, and supply chain.

We are interested in students from the following majors only:

  • Supply Chain Management
  • Business Administration
  • MBA - Supply Chain
  • Operations Management
  • Industrial Engineering

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to co-op, and at least one additional semester following your co-op. May 2025 graduation date or later
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree or higher
  • Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis. Students on an F1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated
  • Ability to commit to a semester long, full time (40 hrs./week) project 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience (i.e. organizations/clubs, project team, work experience, etc.)
  • Project management
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or SAP
  • Effective verbal, written communication and analytical skills
