What’s the Job?

The Process Engineer II will provide technical support for production using process control methods to ensure the product is meeting quality specifications. This position will focus on technical support for operations, process development and optimization, equipment design and optimization, general project engineering, and trial planning and execution.

The Process Engineer II will also assist with Process Innovation through close collaboration with CertainTeed and Saint-Gobain support groups. Through the application of process engineering fundamentals and advanced process control tools, this position will ensure that processes are stable, capable and in control; reduce process variations; and resolve special causes variation.

  • Analyzes process variations; develops solutions and implements corrective actions by using advanced statistical tools in identifying and resolving the root causes of the variations in the process
  • Responsibilities include designing / developing new process systems, revising existing processes, and developing and coordinating the implementation of projects, which contribute substantially to plant profitability.
  • Interacts with Team for operational troubleshooting, process improvement projects, production materials and raw material availability requirements.
  • This position reports directly to the Hot End Manager.

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Three plus years of applied professional experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the glass or fiberglass industry.
  • Understanding of project management and project engineering fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems.
  • Working knowledge of advanced statistical tools used to reduce variations.
  • Flexible, open-minded team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team environments.

Additional Description

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $77,400 to $120,100 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $85,100 to $132,100.
