The position

Working closely with the Senior Financial Accountant you will be assisting in the preparation and management of all accounting and finance related matters across a portfolio of wind and solar farms during construction and operations ensuring financial objectives are achieved. This is a hands-on role in the renewable energy industry that will have a direct impact on the energy transition away from fossil fuels to an affordable zero carbon future. 

Key Accountabilities

You will be responsible for the preparation and management of all accounting and finance related matters across a portfolio of wind and solar farms during construction and operations, including;

  • Preparation of monthly reporting packs for assets under construction and operational assets including working closely with the operations and construction teams
  • Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation and management of wind and solar farm construction budgets of between $150m to $600m
  • Management of accounts payable and revenue settlements for wind and solar farms
  • Preparation and management cost to complete calculations for each asset and interaction with Independent certificates and lenders to ensure sign off and payment
  • Working closely with construction managers to ensure signing and payment of EPC contractor payment claims and other creditor payments
  • Assistance in the preparation of annual financial statements
  • Working closely with the auditors and tax advisors to ensure annual compliance is completed
  • Assistance with BAS preparation for various entities
  • Support the implementation of various process improvements and internal controls
  • Maintenance of the fixed assets registers across the portfolio of wind and solar farms
  • Support the wider finance team with ad hoc requirements that arise in this dynamic business
  • Be an exemplary role model to encourage the avoidance of risk-taking behaviours across the business and provide the personal commitment never to “risk it”.

Skills 

Well-rounded accounting skill set required, with an understanding of all facades required given the wide ranging role. 

Practical and commercial focused

Experience 

Qualifications 

1-3 years relevant accounting experience 

Renewables experience beneficial

Accounting/Finance Degree qualified 

CA qualified or part qualified
