FORVIA is looking for a year-round Lean Manufacturing intern for the Louisville, KY location.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing FES support (HSE, Quality, EE, PC&L and Production system) based on lean manufacturing principles to contribute to operational business targets

o Support the FES (Faurecia Excellence System) deployment plan

o Provide FES knowledge and skills to the plant team through training, coaching and education

  • Contribute to the Plant Direct Labor cost budget construction & achievement, through efficient “Direct Labor cost management” & “Direct Labor cost improvement plan”

o Support data management and acquisition for standard and actual Labor cost accuracy

o Support proper DLE (Direct Labor Efficiency) and DLP (Direct Labor Productivity) tracking process

o Support the implementation of FES improvement tools for production reliability, change over Standards (flexibility), reduction of Line stoppages, Line balancing, and overall Direct Labor efficiency

o Support identification of Direct Labor Productivity Potential

  • Contribute to the lead time reduction though the implementation of continuous flow, layout optimization, pull-system and speed up flows activities
  • Support FES network Animation in the plant

Contribute to deployment of FES culture at Supervisors & GAP Leader level

o Propose and promote best practices within the Plant

o Participate in workshops to implement the lean concepts

  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Able to learn on the fly and handle a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • A positive attitude and optimistic mindset
  • Strong computer skills, including CAD software (Autocad) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Education / Experience:

  • Completing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or similar
