Position Overview

Apollo are looking for an Analyst, Controller to join the Luxembourg team.

Primary Responsibilities

Transactional activity/support of the investment team

  • Review accurately the legal step plan/tax structuring deck made available by the advisors or others and be in a position to illustrate the transaction to Team leaders and colleagues. 
  • Needs to identify: (i) any matter of attention and flag it as appropriate, and (ii) any potential issues and elaborate on their own action plan and a solution to such potential issue to be proposed to Team leaders and colleagues. 
  • The Lux controller is primarily responsible for the execution of the Lux side of the transaction (to get involved in all the correspondence, discussions, calls) and has to proactively coordinate among the various parties to make sure advancement towards completion is made according to the defined timeline.
  • Finance review of the legal documentation 
  • Coordination, monitoring and review of the correct implementation of the legal step plans 
  • Coordination, monitoring and review for any Lux related cash flow 
  • Coordination, monitoring and review with accounting agents, auditors, tax advisors for any finance and accounting information needed for the transaction. 
  • Organise as required board meetings for transaction approvals
  • Participation/contribution during board meetings to provide Finance related information/commentary

Finance, Legal Compliance activity

  • Ensure that the following regulatory filings are coordinated, prepared, reviewed and filed with the respective regulatory body within the required deadline
  • Accounting and financial statements
  • Consolidated financial statements if applicable
  • BCL reporting if applicable
  • Any other reporting and filing (eg. reporting to stock exchange)
  • Ensure that each specific company in respective portfolio is appropriately documented.
  • Gather related materials and review agenda of board meetings from a Finance perspective
  • Facilitating discussions to cover important points and review relevant minutes from a finance, risk and tax perspective
  • Prepare and review the legal documentation regarding the movements on capital and financial instruments during the year for companies in the respective portfolio and the documentation relating to the approval of the financial statements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered accountant qualification or equivalent or working towards
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in audit of alternative funds or working for a central administration company/tax advisory department of a Big 4 company
  • French and English speaker
  • Masters degree in finance/accounting preferred
