Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for a Junior Pricing Actuary (d/m/w) to work in the Quantitative Underwriting Support (QUS) team based in our Cologne office. This is a hybrid role.
Your Role
- Pricing of reinsurance treaties in collaboration with underwriters, especially German language submissions.
- Continual improvement of existing processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Developing strong working relationships with the underwriters.
- Supporting International Pricing with tool maintenance and development during quiet periods.
- Ad hoc support for the wider Actuarial and Underwriting Teams as required.
Your Profile
- Excellent academic background of a technical or mathematical nature.
- Undertaking actuarial training from a recognized association (DAV/IFoA/CAS/etc.).
- Experience with insurance is essential; experience with reinsurance pricing would be beneficial.
- Excellent skills in Excel and experience with a programming language such as VBA, R, Python, or C++ would be beneficial.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people from all areas of the business but also able to work independently.
