Job Description

As a Senior/Lead Data Scientist at SymphonyAI Industrial, you will be ideating and creating solutions based on cutting edge Large Language models and Generative AI technology for some of the most complex industrial problems and deploying them on our state-of-the-art AI/ML platform. By developing and blending some of the latest Generative AI models fine-tuned on structured and unstructured industrial datasets including text documents, reports, FMEAs, logs, images and time series data with conventional ML models and integrating with core asset maintenance and process control systems/historians/MES, you will build new ground-breaking solutions that will fundamentally alter predictive maintenance, operational optimization, and digital manufacturing. Your technical and inquisitive aptitude will lead you to interesting & challenging problems, and your creativity and initiative will help you find solutions in the face of confounding information and complex physics.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform exploration and experimentation to build GenAI prototypes, products and best practices for our applications. This position will bring novel insights to and significant change in how our customers approach complex predictive maintenance & operational optimization problems using Generative AI and other advanced AI/ML methods blended with core asset maintenance and process controls practices.

Responsibilities:

• Interact and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, domain experts, and product managers to identify and discover insights from customers to continually develop our products.
• Directly interact with customers & domain experts across industries to understand and help solve their business problems using latest GenAI technology
• Become a master advocate and leader of SymphonyAI Industrial products.
• Serve as a technical and subject matter expert in the area of Generative AI for the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters or PhD in a quantitative field or engineering.
• 10+ years’ experience in AI / Machine Learning in an organization (or 7+ years with an advanced degree).
• Solid understanding of statistics and machine learning algorithms.
• Ability to translate analytic ideas into production-quality Python code.
• Strong expertise with generic Python-based data science toolkits such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc., as well as other more specialized toolkits for NLP and computer vision.
• Familiarity with integration frameworks such as Hugging Face and ONNX is highly desirable.
• Strong expertise in at least one of the following areas: Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Large Language Models
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following:
• building applications based on large language models like OpenAI GPT-3.5/4, Falcon, Llama, etc.
• building applications based on Computer Vision algorithms for image segmentation, object detection and classification, anomaly detection, and object tracking in videos.
• Experience in delivering and deploying custom-developed AI software solutions for real world applications.
• Familiarity with the agile development methodology, git version control, Linux OS and use of API services is an added advantage.
• Experience with deploying solutions on cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Google) is an added advantage.
• Extremely good, proven problem-solving skills in a practical setting.
• Ability to travel to engage with customers as well as internal stakeholders.
