As a computational modeling expert, you will support Philips businesses in the development of their solutions, by providing (physics-based) insights into the performance of new designs, guidance towards the optimal design, and acceleration of the development process based on your large experience in virtual prototyping.

You will be a part of the Computational Modeling & Data Management team that spearheads a computational modeling team, supporting the 18 Philips businesses. You will work on projects that focus on a variety of medical and personal health devices, such as small medical therapeutic devices, large-scale imaging systems, and personal health devices. You need to work in multi-disciplinary teams including product experts from the businesses. Projects range from short-term (weeks) to longer-term (years).

Your role:

  • Actively participating and cooperating in multidisciplinary industrial research & development projects.
  • Responsible for delivering excellent results within the requirements of the business: actionable insights, on time and with high quality.
  • Keeping up with new developments in computational physics.
  • Staying ahead of technical and application developments in relevant technological areas.
  • Getting a sufficient understanding of the ins and outs of the relevant business applications for your projects.

You're the right fit if:

  • Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Biomedical Engineering preferably with a topic in computational physics.
  • At least 5 years of industrial experience in computational physics, focusing on creating thorough insights.
  • Proven track record in translating computational multiphysics insights into applications.
  • A flexible attitude and the ability to take initiative.
  • Being able to excel in short-term as well as longer-term assignments.
  • Team player and good personal skills, combined with a critical mindset.
  • Expertise in Star-CCM+ is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English
