Your impact

We are hiring a Director of FP&A to lead and continue to build a world class planning function at Handshake.

You will be the owner of our corporate model and will be responsible for coordinating the financial planning cycle – this includes setting expectations via benchmarking & scenario analysis, creating the tools and process required to build a successful financial Plan, and driving analytics to help us execute against our commitments.

You will have a direct line to the executive team and will be responsible for delivering objective insights and supporting high quality decision making. You will build trusted relationships by creating a transparent source of truth for financial data and commitments, proactively coordinating planning cycles (w/ clear comms), and building elegant and easy to understand models.

Finally, you will own FP&As roadmap and manage your team’s resourcing plan in order to meet Handshake’s evolving needs.

Your role

  • Working knowledge of the corporate model and adaptive; benchmarking financial performance
  • Refreshing and running the monthly BVA process w/ accounting
  • Refreshing expectations for the quarterly forecast process
  • Long range planning model up/running w/ ability to run revenue scenarios (w/ unit economics)
  • Running one-off projects to reduce cost where we are out of line w/ peer companies

Your experience

  • Experience establishing and/or managing financial planning cycles on a high functioning FP&A team with responsibility for aligning cross-functional leaders around financial goals. Ideally, you will have seen both rapid growth and have experience operating at scale to provide the context and expertise needed to guide our team through this critical stage.

  • Highly analytical and inquisitive with a keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Ownership mentality with experience ID’ing and solving business problems (not just reporting results) and using benchmarks/analytics to guide decision making.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, or other relevant field.

Compensation range

  • $202,500 - $265,000 per year

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
