What You Bring to the Table

You are someone that is currently working towards their Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting or a similar field, and someone who possesses strong communication skills. You will play a key role in the success of the group by applying accounting knowledge and gaining hands-on experience while collaborating and working with Richey May staff members.

What You Would Do

On a daily basis, our Audit Interns will be responsible for preparing financial statement reports and documentation supporting Richey May’s audit procedure. During your internship, you will develop an understanding of the rules, requirements, code of conduct, and standards of the AICPA, while working in a team-based environment to perform audit-related tasks for firm clients.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure superior results and team success. 
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and accounting software. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written correspondence.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in an accounting related field from an accredited university or college is required. 
  • Internship experience in accounting or related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis.
  • Must be working diligently toward Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (Mortgage Banking Audit specific)

Pay

This is a paid internship, paying $27 an hour. This position does not offer benefits.
