Responsibilities

Analyzes wage and salary data to identify trends in compensation program performance. Monitors payroll data to ensure compliance with pay policies and practices.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with Talent Acquisition members to determine salaries to impact hiring and retention.
  2. Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine FLSA classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range/grade.
  3. Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  4. Completes job analysis and compensation analysis: identifies market/survey data, collects, analyzes, and reports data, identifying trends, and recommending appropriate compensation related changes.
  5. Participates in salary surveys and analyze results.
  6. Ensures hospital compliance with applicable state and federal employment regulations, pertaining to compensation.
  7. Researches and responds to leadership and employee questions, interpret policies, and assists with review of compensation issues
  8. Evaluates and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
  9. Conducts audits of employee data to identify trends in pay, and to monitor compliance with pay policies.
  10. Responds to management/staff compensation issues as appropriate by providing policy interpretation.
  11. Works closely with Position Management/ Finance to ensure compliance with the position control process.
  12. Conducts performance management training and assists with the merit process.

Qualifications

REQUIRED 

  1. B.S. degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field.
  2. Two (2) years experience in compensation.
  3. Knowledge of federal and state regulations in compensation and human resources.
  4. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, and an ability to collect, organize, and interpret data from diverse sources.
  5. Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, Vlookup and pivot tables.
  6. Demonstrated ability to initiate, analyze, report, and implement approved programs.

PREFERRED 

  1. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation
  2. Five or more years of experience in compensation.
  3. Healthcare experience
  4. Experience in a Business/Financial Service-Consulting environment
  5. Experience in training (classroom and individual)
