Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

The automotive Battery Management Systems (BMS) group at Analog Devices develops ultra-high performance instrumentation ICs that measure battery cell voltages and currents in and around the high-voltage battery pack of electric vehicles. Our products combine high measurement accuracy with high robustness and solid functional safety, meeting the highest safety standards without losing sight of ease of use. We develop our market leading portfolio to keep meeting the challenging requirements of the rapidly growing electric vehicle and energy management markets.

Job description:

As Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer, you'll act as a key contributor to the development of our next generation products. Much like a Swiss army knife of IC design, you will be involved in topics such as:

  • Precision instrumentation ADCs and DSPs, including trimming and other error cancellation techniques
  • Mixed-signal control systems and design of digitally-assisted analog circuits
  • IC design for effective production test
  • System Concept and Architecture development based on Customer and Internal requirements, including towards Functional Safety (ISO26262)
  • Supporting pre-silicon verification, including analog modeling using RNM and UDTs.
  • Supporting bench evaluation and other post-silicon verification activities

Our products are generally implemented in HV BCD technology, with feature sizes between 180 and 90nm. We use industry-standard tools for design and verification.

In the first few months you will:

  • Become familiar with our BMS portfolio
  • Work on system design for one of our next product ICs.
  • Work on Design-for-Test, enabling the production test engineer to test ICs as soon as they get the wafers.
  • Learn and then contribute to our mixed-signal design and verification methodology
