The Pediatric Solid Tumor Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking to hire a motivated Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to work within the Clinical Translational Research Program (CTIP) on trials specific to the Solid Tumor Biology and research portfolio. The pediatric Solid Tumor Program is one of the largest in the world and treats children with a range of solid tumor diagnoses providing novel and cutting edge therapies for these rare diseases. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work within the Solid Tumor Biology group and will support the research team in the overall conduct of specimen-based clinical research studies using Good Clinical Practice under the auspices of the Principal Investigator(s) and DFCI Pediatric oncology clinical trial leadership. The CRC will be responsible for the primary data collection and management of patient clinical information as it pertains to participation in biology trials and ensure timely collection of protocol-related samples including shipment to outside entities as required. The CRC may obtain informed consent on non-treatment trials, and will also register study participants. Other responsibilities may include IRB protocol submissions (amendments, continuing reviews, secondary-use protocol, and minimal risk protocols). The opportunity to work 1:1 with patients and their families is an added bonus for this role. It is anticipated that this job opportunity will lead to educational opportunities as well as the prospect for advancement within the division and the Institute.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, with 0-1 years of related experience preferred. Experience working in a medical or scientific research setting or comparable technology orientated business environment preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent organization and communications skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and externals contacts.
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to follow-through.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize workload.
  • Must practice discretion and adhere to hospital confidentiality guidelines at all times.
  • Must have computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office.

May have contact with Adult and Pediatric patients of all ages and populations. May distribute protocol schedules, quality of life surveys or other study-related questionnaires, subject diaries, and/or conduct follow-up communication with patients.

WORKING CONDITIONS: (include physical efforts when necessary)

Must be able to lift and carry boxes, otherwise normal office environment.
