Role Objective

Systems Engineering at Honeywell Aerospace is a branch of engineering concerned with the design and development of potentially large and complex mechanical systems including Aircraft Bleed Air Management & Life Support Oxygen systems, where a ‘system’ is understood to be an integration of subsystems or components working together toward a common objective. Core technologies include turbomachinery, electro-mechanical valves, heat exchangers, oxygen generation and storage equipment and associated electronic controls.

We have an opportunity for an Advanced Systems Engineer to join us at Honeywell in Turkey, Ankara. Systems Engineering concentrates on the precise specification of system architecture and performance in order to satisfy customer requirements. The role of the Systems Project Engineer encompasses the complete product design and development life cycle including; System concept development, design, build, qualification, certification support and in-service support.

Key Requirements:

  • Responsible for determining and deriving the technical requirements from the customer ensuring the compliance of the system and its products to the customer requirement documentation. Experience in the capturing and definition and subsequent detailing of requirements is required. The use of suitable requirement’s capture software would be useful.
  • The role includes responsibility for the complete system life cycle: systems requirements capture and management, systems design, support to systems modelling and performance testing. And Interpretation of system test results.
  • Responsibility for defining the system level requirements includes requirements allocation to electronic controls and component level requirements
  • Reporting of system design / development status to internal and external customers.
  • The Systems Project Engineer will liaise closely with other functions; Programme Management, Design, Chief Engineers, Development Engineers, Manufacturing and Customers as and when necessary.
  • The Systems Project Engineer is expected to manage his or her time according to the demands of the programme and the department and utilise Honeywell’s project management tools for which training will be provided. A degree of working outside of normal hours may occur given the global location of our customers and the Honeywell Corporation.
  • The Systems Project Engineer will be expected to work effectively both independently and within a cross-functional team environment. Support & coaching is available from areas of expertise and experience when required.

Key skills and qualifications

  • A good engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering is required. Knowledge of thermodynamic and fluid dynamic theory and practice would be useful.
  • Specific experience of working with air/oxygen management systems would be useful.
  • A strong background and experience of engineering practices, design and practical applications would be useful.

  • System Description

  • System & Component Qualification Test Reports (QTR’s)
  • Experience of component environmental & performance testing would be an advantage
  • Full proficiency in English
